Tarot reading for two: what happens between you
A seven-card spread about a bond between two people. It does not guess at anyone’s thoughts — it reads what happens between you and the step that is yours to take.
How the cards lie
The reading for two is a seven-card spread about a bond between two people — a partner, an ex, somebody you have a crush on, a parent, a sibling, a friend or a colleague. It does not guess at what the other person thinks or feels. It looks at what happens between you, and at the one step that is yours to take.
The cards lie on a three-by-three table: your column on the left, the other person's on the right, and what is between you down the middle. An AI reads the whole table at once, together with a rule worked out before it writes a word: how the cards beside each other strengthen or soften one another.
The seven positions
Your column holds what you bring to the bond and how you guard yourself in it. The other person's column holds how they show up with you and how their guard looks from where you stand — what you can see, never what they secretly feel.
The middle holds what binds you, the knot where the two guards catch on each other, and at the bottom your step: the one move the reading points to, and what it opens. When the bond is over, or has not begun, the labels change to fit it — what you carry from it, what you do not know yet.
Why not the usual spread for two
Most spreads for two — the Russian «Vokzal dlya dvoikh», «a station for two», among them — spend most of their positions on the other person's hidden thoughts: what he feels, what she intends, whether they are coming back. A card cannot know that, and a reading that claims to only confirms what the asker already fears or hopes.
This spread keeps the same honest shape — two columns and the space between them — and gives each position a question the cards can actually answer: what shows, what you do, what repeats between you. No position gives a compatibility score, and no reading hands down a verdict.
What the cards say to each other
Each suit belongs to an element: wands to fire, cups to water, swords to air, pentacles to earth, and most of the Major Arcana to one of the four as well. Read along the lines of the table, cards of friendly elements strengthen each other and contrary ones soften each other — the classical rule of elemental dignities.
The table works this out before the reader starts, and hands over at most five such lines. They say where your two columns echo each other and where they pull apart: a pattern to notice, never a score.
When the question is about fear
If what you write describes being afraid of the other person, or controlled by them, the table changes to read it that way — before a card is drawn when the question says it, and at once when a later question does. There is no shared knot then, the other person's behavior is never called a defense, and the step points toward your own ground and toward the people who can help.
Trying it
Your first tarot reading on Vanteia is free and needs no account, and it can be this one. The name you give the other person stays on your screen: it is sent nowhere, and the reading refers to them as she, he or this person, as you choose. A guest may also ask one follow-up question about it — one in all, whichever art it is asked in — and a free account keeps the reading and the conversation.
