Frequently asked questions about Vanteia
What Vanteia is, what is free, who writes the readings and what happens to your data — each answer starts with the short one.
These are the questions people most often ask about Vanteia: what it is, what it costs, who writes the readings and what happens to what you write. Each answer opens with the short version and then gives the detail. Where an answer touches on your data, your age or payment, it follows the published terms of service and privacy policy, and those two documents are the ones that bind.
What is Vanteia?
Vanteia is a divination web app — tarot, astrology, numerology and metaphoric cards, read by an AI in eleven languages, for reflection and entertainment rather than prediction. It runs in the browser and is built as a ritual you take part in rather than a feed you scroll: you shuffle and cut the deck yourself, give the birth details a chart needs, or describe what you see on a card, and the reading is written from what is actually on the table. Vanteia is in beta, so its features still appear and change as it is built.
Does a reading show the future?
A reading on Vanteia does not show the future: it is a mirror to think with, not a forecast, and it does not predict events. The terms say plainly that tarot, astrology, numerology and related traditions have no scientific basis and no demonstrated ability to foresee what happens, and that nothing the app writes is a statement of fact. What a reading offers is a picture and a question to hold your situation against.
A reading is not advice either: not medical, psychological, legal, financial or relationship advice. It is no substitute for a qualified professional, and it is not meant as an input to decisions about health, safety, law or money: every decision stays yours. Before a reading begins, what you write is checked against a short list of phrases that suggest an acute crisis, and when one matches, the app declines to write a reading.
Who writes the readings?
Every reading on Vanteia is written by an AI language model, no person reviews it before you see it, and the app says so before your first reading. The model is run by third-party providers and writes from the cards, the chart or the numbers actually on the table, in the voice of a chosen persona. If you allow it, it also draws on a memory of what mattered in your earlier sessions, kept in your account as short summaries. When you choose to listen, the text is read aloud by a synthetic voice.
Which arts does Vanteia offer?
Vanteia offers four arts — tarot, metaphoric associative cards, numerology and astrology — and all of them are open on the free account. Tarot is the 78-card deck: a card of the day, spreads with a question of your own, and a reading for two. Metaphoric cards are a 54-card deck of open images. Numerology covers the core chart, the psychomatrix, personal cycles, the Destiny Matrix and a compatibility reading for two people. Astrology computes a natal chart from your birth data and draws its wheel, with the transits over it, the solar return for the year and a lunar calendar that is the same sky for everyone.
How does a tarot reading work on Vanteia?
On Vanteia you choose a spread, write your question, and shuffle and cut the deck yourself in a three-dimensional scene before the cards are laid out, upright or reversed. What you do with the deck shapes the draw, but which cards come up is a matter of chance. The AI then reads the cards actually drawn, in their positions and against your question, and can go on answering follow-up questions in the same conversation. Under the spread, each card's name links to its meaning on this site, in the languages the card pages are written in.
What are metaphoric associative cards?
Metaphoric associative cards are open images with no fixed meanings: what a card means comes out of what you see in it, not out of a book. The method grew from a deck first published in Germany in the 1980s and was taken up by psychotherapists and coaches as a way of speaking about oneself through a picture. On Vanteia you draw a card from a deck of 54 and describe what you see before anything is said about it. The AI then works as a facilitator, reflecting your own words back and asking questions rather than interpreting — and it is never shown the picture, only your words about it.
What is the tarot reading for two?
The reading for two is a seven-card tarot spread about a bond between you and one other person — a partner, an ex, somebody you like, a parent, a sibling, a friend or a colleague. The cards lie on a three-by-three table: your column, theirs, and what lies between you down the middle, ending in one step that is yours to take. No position guesses what the other person thinks or feels, and there is no compatibility score. A guest's one free tarot reading can be this one, and the name you give the other person stays on your screen and is sent nowhere.
Is Vanteia free?
Vanteia is free: for now it can only be used free of charge, because the paid passes are not on sale while the demo runs and no payments are accepted. Without an account you can try each of the four arts once and ask one follow-up question; a free account gives ten readings a week, five more in its first week, the card of the day, the morning digest and all four arts, with no end date. Passes of thirty, ninety or 365 days are planned for heavier use — more readings, Vanteia's own voice and the second guide, Orion — and none of the arts is kept behind them.
Do I need an account?
You do not need an account to try Vanteia: a guest can try each of the four arts once (a tarot try may be the reading for two, a numerology try the compatibility reading, an astrology try the forecast or the solar return), ask one follow-up question about a reading, draw a card of the day and hear a sample of Vanteia's voice, and the lunar calendar is open to everyone. A free account, made with an email address, is needed for four things: keeping your readings and conversations; the morning digest «Your day»; new readings every week; and the command bar's own answers. A reading received as a guest is kept for no more than thirty days.
What counts as a reading, and how many do I get?
On Vanteia every answer the reader writes for you counts as one reading: the first answer to your question, and each follow-up after it. A follow-up also uses one of the conversation's own follow-ups — one on the free account, eight on Plus and twelve on Pro. The week holds ten readings on Free, sixty on Plus and 150 on Pro, and a new account's first week holds five more. The card of the day, the morning digest, the command bar within its own daily limit and the general reading of your chart or numbers are not counted.
Can I buy a pass?
Passes cannot be bought yet: while the demo runs, they are not on sale and Vanteia accepts no payments. The app may show the plans it intends to offer and ask which one you would choose, but that is not an offer, and plans and prices may change before sales open. If you say which pass you would take, you can ask Vanteia to write to you on the day they open, with nothing charged and nothing promised. Before the first sale, the terms of purchase, payment and refunds are published, and they have to be accepted before anyone buys.
Can I listen to a reading?
Readings on Vanteia can be listened to: without a pass, a reading is read aloud by your device's own voice, free of charge, wherever the browser has a voice for your language. If the device carries a voice of its own, the text is spoken on the device; if the browser can read it only through its maker's online service, the button says so, and the browser maker's rules apply. Vanteia's own voices come with a pass — fifteen minutes a week on Plus and thirty on Pro — and a guest's first press plays one sample of them. Vanteia keeps no recording of the speech it makes.
Which languages is Vanteia available in?
Vanteia is offered in eleven languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Romanian, Serbian, Georgian, Armenian and Kazakh, and English also comes in several regional variants. The interface, the card meanings, the knowledge behind the charts and the letters are written in each of them — and in thirteen more that are not offered for now — and a reading is written in the language you read in.
Can I install Vanteia as an app?
Vanteia can be installed as a web app: a browser that supports installing web apps can add it to a phone's home screen or a computer's desktop, where it opens in a window of its own. It is the same Vanteia as in a browser tab — the same account, the same readings and the same limits — so nothing else has to be set up. Where to find the option depends on the browser; it is usually an install or «Add to Home Screen» item in the browser's menu.
What happens to my questions and readings?
Vanteia stores your questions and messages, your birth details and what it writes about you encrypted, and it never sells your personal data or shares it for advertising. There is no advertising in the app and there are no advertising or analytics cookies; your browser keeps only what the app needs to work, such as your sign-in and your settings. Because a question can touch on things like health or beliefs, the app asks for a separate, explicit consent before the places where you write, and you can withdraw it in your profile. The one thing stored unencrypted is a feedback report, because it is meant to be read.
Is my data used to train AI?
Vanteia does not use your data to train artificial intelligence models, its own or anyone else's. To write a reading, the AI providers receive only what that request needs, through interfaces whose terms exclude training models on it, though a provider may keep it for a limited time under its own rules, for example to prevent abuse; the list of providers is available on request. Usage statistics and the work of improving the service rest on Vanteia's legitimate interest, and you may object to that processing by writing to [email protected]. After an account is deleted, only de-identified and aggregated data remain, beside a few records that name nobody.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your Vanteia account yourself, from your profile, and everything held about you is erased except a few records the privacy policy lists. Those are the record of which documents you accepted, kept for the legal limitation period; the log of actions on the account, for up to ten years; a marker of your email address from which the address cannot be recovered, kept for two years only to recognize a repeat registration; and de-identified, aggregated data. None of them names you. Database backups expire within ninety days, and the deletion is done within a month, normally much sooner; you can also ask for it at [email protected].
Who can use Vanteia, and where?
Vanteia is for adults: you must be at least 18, or older where the age of majority in your country is higher, and legally able to enter into a contract. It may not be available everywhere. In a small number of countries the law restricts or prohibits services of this kind, and Vanteia is neither directed nor advertised there; access can also be refused because of international sanctions, or in a country Vanteia has chosen not to serve for reasons of its own, which says nothing about whether what you wanted to do is lawful where you are. An account found to belong to a minor is closed and its data deleted.
How do I contact Vanteia?
To contact Vanteia, write to [email protected] about the service and its terms, and to [email protected] about your data — to get a copy of it, correct it, delete part of it, object to how it is used or withdraw a consent. Requests about data are answered within one month, and Vanteia may first ask you to confirm that the request is yours. A person whose details were entered for a compatibility reading can write to the same privacy address. Problem reports and suggestions can also be sent from the feedback panel inside the app; they are not encrypted, so leave personal details out of them.
